Leveraging the Community in your next Tridion Implementation
Alvin describes three technical considerations in an R5.3 to 2011 upgrade and how support, your implantation partner, and the Tridion community can help.
Presenter: Alvin Reyes (SDL).
Alvin was unique as the first, and only, Tridion MVP award winner from the SDL client community. He has enjoyed interacting with the consultant- and user-community on Tridion World and has recently joined SDL’s Web Content Management Services (WCMS) Division as a functional consultant.
With a background project management and software development, he enjoys helping Tridion customers users find well-fitted solutions that balance business wants with system needs. From web development intern, to internet research associate, to Web business analyst he’s helped document, implement, and train users in Tridion and other systems. He credits recent success to involvement with the dynamic Tridion community and continues to contribute on the Tridion World forum and through his blog, available at http://createandbreak.net.
YAWF (Yet Another Workflow Framework)
Workflows implementations become increasingly popular in the last couple of years. YAWF is a workflow framework built on top of Tridion’s workflow functionality. Although there is nothing in YAWF that you can’t do with OOTB Tridion workflow, YAWF does it easier — modular and reusable automatic activity handlers written in C# provide a consistent approach for implementations. Handlers such as Email Notification, (Schedule) Publish, Re-assign to author or to group, are just a few examples of some YAWF built-in handlers.
